This yarn was created from only the highest quality silk noil fiber with the addition of dyed neps. The raw fiber was first dyed and carded then during the spinning process the colored neps were added to create the perfect tweed effect. Visually, it has a wonderful textured quality and while being a single ply and classified as a fingerling weight, it is easily used for either hand knitting or weaving as a weft yarn. Put up is in a 50 gram skein. Beginning knitters may have the single strand yarn twist slightly if used as a single but this makes a wonderful excuse to use two or three strands.
