Downtown Ride Orlando original painting

Bicycles pose a uniquely challenging subject for me to paint. Achieving the correct perspective, especially with the wheels, has required numerous re-sketches and repaints. Interestingly, many have expressed that their favorite pieces of mine feature bicycles. Despite not relying on a bike for daily transportation, cycling symbolizes leisure, health, and exploration for me. I find joy in riding, appreciating the physical effort it takes to pedal, which allows for faster travel than walking yet affords the freedom to stop and explore more than a car would. Downtown Orlando offers several bike rental spots, adding to the allure of urban exploration. This particular scene, captured in a tucked-away photograph I've long wanted to paint, portrays bicycles beckoning towards adventure against a backdrop of brick and concrete, enlivened by the presence of trees.
