This original painting, measuring 24x30 inches, captures the timeless elegance of the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, which began its life as the Hotel Alcazar over 100 years ago. Henry Flagler’s vision to transform St. Augustine into an upscale destination has left us with remarkable buildings like this one, featuring a grand indoor pool, a beautiful courtyard, and stunning Spanish Renaissance architecture. In December and January, the charm of the Lightner Museum and the surrounding parks is further enhanced by the addition of white Christmas lights, creating a magical atmosphere. I chose to portray these historic landmarks at the golden hour, capturing the long shadows and warm, golden light as the sun sets in a blaze of glory. This original acrylic painting is presented on a 1.5” gallery-wrapped canvas, where the artwork extends seamlessly onto the edges. The canvas has been varnished to ensure protection and longevity.
