Afghan "Moroccan" Rug - 6'9 x 10'2
This Moroccan-styled rug was woven during the 21st century in Afghanistan. It features abstracted blocks of ivory, natural browns, vivid blues, and pops of red. The patterning is tighter and more consistent up top but breaks down becoming looser and freer near the bottom. Woven of hearty, handspun Afghan wool giving it durability and extra heft not commonly found in the Moroccan weaving usually associated with this patterning. The rug is finished with multicolor kilim skirt ends. In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Pile is thick, with a soft handle.
