Antique Afshar - 5' x 5'9

This squarish Afshar rug was handwoven during the early 20th century. It features a classical repeat of the dragon and phoenix motif in blues, greens, reds, and purples on an orangey sand field. The whole is framed by alternating scrolling rosette borders in blue and oxidized brown. In very good condition, with some wear, consistent with age. Low and dense pile, with a sturdy handle.
