Rare & Unusual Heriz - 6'5 x 9'

This Heriz rug was handwoven during the early 20th century. It features a stepped central medallion with a large central rosette surrounded by smaller rosettes atop a rich red ground of large botehs. Hatchmarks around the medallion as well as the stepped cornices give the piece a dynamic energy.  Each cornice features a field of rosettes on a coral ground. The main border is composed of a crisply drawn rosette meander on a bright ivory ground. Classic Heriz dyes and durability but in a rare pattern and hard to find size. In very good condition for even all over wear. Low pile with a sturdy handle.
