Veramin Soumak & Pile Weave - 1'10 x 2'5

This Veramin rug was woven during the middle of the 20th century. The main section is soumak woven and features three rows of linked geometric "S" symbols surrounded by a border of 8 pointed stars in navy, red, yellow, white, and green. Intriguingly the rug has a pile woven skirt about half the size of the main soumak.  Hearty soumak with a thick pile skirt in very good condition with some wear to the pile as pictured.   Size: 1'10" x 2'5" [56cm x 74cm] Age: Mid Century Type of Rug: Veramin  Material: Wool Pile Height: Soumak Flatweave Condition: Very Good   BK2039
