Antique Bidjar Rug - 6' x 11'
This Bidjar was handwoven during the late 19th Century (1875-1900). It features an all-over herati patterned field in blues, reds, coral, and gold on a midnight blue backdrop. This bidjar lives up to its reputation as the "Iron Rug" with dense tightly packed construction which makes for a heavy and hard-wearing rug. The sparkling main border is composed of yellow and icy blue palmettes on a lacquer red ground which is flanked by minor borders of green and red rinceau on bright white. In good condition.
