Midcentury Tekke Turkmen Rug - 4'1 x 5'2
This Turkmen rug was handwoven in Central Asia during the middle of the 20th century by the Tekke people This Tekke rug is composed of a repeat design of the classic Tekke guls on a red ground with accents of navy, ivory, and a soft sherbert. It is surrounded by multiple minor borders where the brighter magenta takes precedence offering a stark contrast to the calmer red of the field and skirt borders on the top and bottom In good condition, with areas of wear to the foundation and small areas of repair Both selvages have been reinforced for longevity. Low pile with a dense, floppy handle.
