Heirloom Log Cabin Quilt - 5’8 x 6’9
This quilt was handmade and of recycled materials in North America at the end of the 19th century. It features a variation of the classic log cabin design in 42 squares. The concentric squares are broken up by a highly contrasting concentric diamond over the top. A very striking composition with great visual power. Would be very impactful hung on a wall. In very good condition, signs of wear are consistent with age. Backed with fabric. Has a light and airy handle. Special Provenance: Nelson Family, Portland, Oregon Part of a collection of four quilts made by one person and passed down as family heirlooms.
