Luxurious Silk Hereke Rug - 3'4 x 5'9
This silk rug was handwoven during the middle of the 20th century in the Turkish city of Hereke. It features a directional tree of life motif with a central flowering vase. The ivory mihrab is formed by two deep navy top cornices each supported by a pillar. The whole is framed by a birght turqoise border of alternating palmettes. The silk pile accentuates exquisite tones of reds, pinks, oranges, greens, yellows and three distinct and exceptional blue tones. Very finely woven of dense high quality silk. In very good condition, with little to no wear.
