This blanket was likely woven in Nigeria during the middle of the 20th century. It was woven in multiple stripes which have been attached horizontally. It features four human figures and six goats as well as various stripes in green, purple and black against an ivory ground. A wonderful and less common palette most often seen on Nigerian weavings. The figures and stripes have been completed using weft substitution over the ivory strips.
