Arashi Shibori Kimono - Katazome Florals

Beautiful indigo dyed cotton yukata with mixed techniques of shibori and katazome. The shibori process is arashi shibori - the cloth is wrapped around a pole and then dyed, with indigo. This gives rise to the striped, wave-like pattern.  To complete the design, the maker added floral and botanical motifs using katazome.  A bold, graceful, and unique cotton kimono - it is in excellent condition without stains or repairs.
