Linden Leaf & Flowers Whole
Linden trees, also known as lime trees, are large deciduous trees with broad, heart-shaped leaves and fragrant, nectar-rich flowers. There are several Tilia species; European linden (Tilia x europaea) is a natural hybrid noted for its aromatic and sweet flowers. Its leaves and flowers are both edible and have historically been made into flour for baked goods. Dried linden leaves and flowers make a soothing tea with a wonderful aroma. The herb is often considered to calm anxiety and relieve irritation and inflammation. In addition to warm bedtime teas and refreshing iced teas, linden may be used externally as a bath herb, hair rinse, poultice, or infusion for salves, lotions, and creams. Medicinally, herbalists primarily recommend linden leaf and flower tea to ease anxiety, muscle tension and cramping. The herb also has the potential to relieve fevers and colds, lower blood pressure, and soothe digestion.
