Penelope's Rose Beeswax Salve, 1 oz biodegradable jar

Our 1 oz salves come in a to-go, lightweight compostable container. It is made entirely from sturdy kraft paperboard and equipped with an inner lining made from food grade vegetable wax paper, fully compostable, biodegradable and recyclable. [This salve was formulated in honor of our maternal grandmother Penelope whose favorite scent was rose. To her we dedicate this humble offering. It was spread on the body to protect the skin from the sun and cold. After a bath, the bather's body and hair were coated with aromatic olive oil, which was a main component of many fragrances. Olive oil was also esteemed for its healing properties. The Hippocratic Corpus mentioned more than 60 medicinal uses for olive oil. It was considered a suitable agent for the treatment of skin diseases, including the healing of wounds, due to its antiseptic properties.  T
