Valarie

Valarie is part of a 2023 series of intricately designed tribal masks mounted on wood. I was inspired to start creating art after viewing authentic African artwork at the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, leaving me in awe. Valarie's dimensions are 5” x 8 x 1 and she weighs 1.13 lbs. Her features include a honey brown complexion and a captivating smile, complemented by more than 20 handmade raku fired beads and 60+ feet of 16 and 24 gauge twisted wire for her hair. It took approximately two weeks to complete her. Valarie can be mounted either indoors or outdoors.
