Two Hawks Double 'A' Spanish Cedar Double Drone Holes
Our Two Hawks double flute in the key of "A" minor is handcrafted in the mountains of southern Arizona from domestic Spanish Cedar wood. Spanish Cedar is a softwood, which gives woodwind instruments a musical voice that is melodic, resonant, and tonally warm. It is also features decorative black Onyx stone inlay cabochons. Some of our 'A-Frame' double flutes come with the option of adding fingering holes to the drone side of the flute, which allows the player to change the musical note being played by the drone side. Each flute is approximately 19-inches (48 cm) in length. With our double flutes you play the melody on one side and the other side provides the drone in the root note of the flute and it magically sounds like two people are playing at the same time! Our double flutes are played the same as our single flutes, they just require more breath / air pressure. And with all our flutes the larger the diameter of the flute the more breath they require.
