In Japanese cuisine, mushimono refers to steamed dishes, such as chawanmushi, a savory egg custard. A seiro is the traditional steamer used to prepare mushimono. Often made from hinoki or bamboo, the typical cooking method uses small bowls or cups, which are placed in the steamer to cook. This steamer can accommodate 4 smaller cups.
