Bunrin Bushuyo Fudekai (Encyclopedia, Very Large Volume) - Tenmei 7 (1788) - Edo Period

Title: Bunrin Bushuyo Fudekai Complete Edition (文林節用筆海大全) Publication Year:  Tenmei 7 (1788) Size: 10 x 7 inches Condition: Book has been rebound and had its covers replaced, but this was likely done decades ago or more. Interior pages are very worn, with creases and a lot of ragging on the edges, plus some signs of previous repairs. This massive volume is an encyclopedic text that covers a variety of people, places, events, and more. The first half includes multiple illustrations per page, with a huge variety of different subjects.  Japanese books are read right to left (instead of left to right) and are bound on the right side, contrary to those in Western languages. The pages may be double layered, and care must be taken to ensure that they do not separate when flipping through. The book must be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of bugs.
