On top of the stone wall are several plants kept in stone vases with small garden hedges placed between them. Behind the wall, large, verdant trees stand proudly in the background. Hidden in the trees is what appears to be a small mission-style house.  World War II had an intense effect on the lives of the people in Italy. When Italy entered the war in the 1940s, it created new opportunities for the Axis Powers to conquer many places in France and in Africa. Following the defeat of the Axis, Italians suffered a great loss, both in terms of its military and civilians.
