Why This Watch Matters Breitling is a well known name to any chronograph lover, and the reference 734 clearly justifies this. The Full Story The reference 734 was first documented in a Breitling catalog from 1939, where it was initially shown with a black dial configuration. The Premier name was not yet featured on the reference 734, but would be associated with later iterations; it undoubtedly referred to Breitling's innovations related to chronograph wristwatches, and more specifically the operation of the chronograph function through two separate pushers. The reference 734 was produced through the 1940s, and is now one of the most coveted vintage Breitling watches due to its well-proportioned case and large sub-registers. We tend to think that it offers the best you can get from a vintage chronograph, and still looks completely relevant today.
