The Full Story Girard-Perregaux was founded in 1791, and among the countless designs it has released over more than two centuries, some of its most famous creations include the three-bridge tourbillon and the Laureato sport watch series. When the Gryomatic was released in 1957,  it was intended to be Girard-Perregaux's answer for a reliable automatic movement. Girard-Perregaux developed a system by which a self-winding module could be added to an existing manual movement. The system utilized a unidirectional winding system that relied on two "Gyrotron" wheels with rubies, instead of ball bearings, intended to prevent wear and friction.  The watch we have here is in overall great condition and features some extra-nice details.
