Why This Watch Matters This Enicar Sherpa is an early example of the cool tool watch that we know and love. The Full Story Enicar's most famous line of watches is the Sherpa series, which put the company on the map. This series represented the pinnacle of the firm's popularity, with numerous well-known models, including a chronograph (Sherpa Graph), a GMT (Sherpa Jet), and a dive watch (Sherpa Dive), as well as a few others. The product line was introduced in November of 1956, after an Enicar was used in a summit of Mount Everest; henceforth, all of its explorer or tool watches bore the Sherpa moniker. This is an early example from the late 1950s / early 1960s and has an unusual center seconds hand. It boasts a rotating bezel and black dial with tritium lume plots. This Enicar is sure to set you apart. The Sherpa Dive like the one we have here is special within the Sherpa product line as it features an oversized, EPSA made, Super-Compressor style case. EPSA stands for Ervin Piquerez S.
