U-Shape Vase with Lid | Spalted Maple

This vase is a handcrafted one-of-a-kind piece of art, that will be a wonderful addition to your home decor collection. It is perfect for displaying a dried flower or single flower arrangement. This is hand turned from a reclaimed Maple log. The Norway Maple had once stood on my backyard that had fallen down by a powerful storm. I gave second life to the tree and the nature gave spalting figures. My backyard tree revived to this graceful vase. The spalted maple wood is containing blackish irregular lines in the soft wood grain that produce a decorative surface. Before turning the wood block, it was sealed and hardened with wood stabilizer. I looked at the best appearance of the spalted figures when I am turning this vase and during this vase production I have a sight of the Japanese Ichilinzashi (single flower arrangement vase), I came up with this unique U-shape.
