Boston Acoustics began its audio journey in the late 1970s.  Created as an affordable brand with a simple "Yankee" style, the company's designs were equally simple.  Simplicity can often yield the best results.  With careful component selection, simplicity means higher efficiency, lower loss, and better management of resources.  This was definitely the case with BA's early offerings.  The A60 was the second-largest in the product line, introduced in 1981. Taking cues from bigger brothers the A70 and A100, the A60 stuffed a lot of sound in a small package.  The sealed, acoustic suspension design was an early hallmark for Boston Acoustics, and served their in-house constructed 8" paper cone woofer very well.
