Boston Acoustics A70, Great Value & Sound!
Boston Acoustics began its audio journey in the late 1970s. Created as an affordable brand with a simple "Yankee" style, the company's designs were equally simple. Simplicity can often yield the best results. With careful component selection, simplicity means higher efficiency, lower loss, and better management of resources. This was definitely the case with BA's early offerings. The A70 was introduced in 1981 to be the mid-shipman in BA's full product line. A little large to be a compact bookshelf, and a little small to be a floor model; the A70 ft right in the middle. Taking cues from bigger brothers the A100 and A200, the A70 stuffed a lot of sound in a small package. The sealed, acoustic suspension design was an early hallmark for Boston Acoustics, and served their in-house constructed 8" paper cone woofer very well.
