Springtails, are omnivores and will feed on the decaying organics, fungus and some types of mold in your terrarium or bioactive setup. Adding a starter culture of these amazing clean-up artists with your isopods assists a healthy tank (and less cleaning for yourself). They prefer a humid (moist) environment and this particular species is not meant for arid (dry) conditions. This “starter culture” is just that, a way to start your own colony of White Springtails.
