Carat Champagne: A Contemporary Take on Orrefors' Traditional Cut Glass The Carat collection is based on a contemporary interpretation of the traditional cut glass for which Orrefors is world-renowned. Carat Champagne has a stem covered with the collection’s characteristic asymmetrical motif, which produces beautiful reflections of light in the crystal. The champagne glass holds 8 oz and its flute shape makes it ideal for sparkling beverages, with the narrow bowl preserving the bubbles in the drink. Designed by Lena Bergström. The Designer: Lena Bergström Lena Bergström (born in 1961) studied design in Japan, Finland, Belgium, and England and has a master’s degree in textiles from one of Sweden's most prestigious art universities. She began working as a designer for Orrefors in 1994 while continuing to develop her role as a textile designer for Klässbols, Design House, and Designer’s Eye, among others.
