Check out this sweet vintage hardcover copy of "The Talisman" by Sir Walter Scott, which was printed in 1931 by A.L. Burt Company of New York. Mustard-y yellow in color, the cover has an image of a knight clad in red armor looking out from the ramparts of a castle. The spine of the book is also adorned with a red castle. The book's story centers around a Scottish knight named Kenneth and the scheming and politics that surround him during the Third Crusade.The Talisman takes place at the end of the Third Crusade, mostly in the camp of the Crusaders in Palestine. Scheming and partisan politics, as well as the illness of King Richard the Lionheart, are placing the Crusade in danger.
