Hook Sharpener 4” Diamond Stone
Simple design with one groove on one side and two grooves on the other side. Steps for Sharpening a Hook: Grip Securely: Hold the hook firmly with your thumb and forefinger, or use pliers for larger hooks. Find the Angle: Position the file at a low, consistent angle (around 10-15 degrees) to the hook point, matching the natural bevel. Stroke Towards the Point: Draw the file across one side of the hook point, moving away from you and towards the point (or pulling the hook downalong the file). Work All Sides: File the top edge of the point a few times. Rotate the hook and file the opposite side. File the underside of the point. Use a final stroke straight across the top to remove any burrs. Use Light Pressure: Apply just enough pressure for the file to bite; too much pressure can damage the hook. Test for Sharpness (Nail Test): Lightly drag the point across your thumbnail. If it sticks and catches, it's sharp. If it slides, continue filing. Minimal Strokes: Use only a few stroke
