These beans have flattened pods typical of Italian or Romano types. The pods are 4-5" long, stringless and extra tender! Roma II Bush Bean is great for any size garden. The plants are compact and average 15-20" tall, making it a great option for containers as well as row gardens. While these beans are traditionally used as snap beans, they are very tender and can be sautéed whole as well. They also freeze and can well for preserving the harvest. Beans should be planted in spring after the last frost has occurred. Beans will germinate best once soil temps have reached 65 F or higher. Optimal germination temperature is around 77 F.
