Scarlet Nantes Carrot

It has a cylindrical shape with very little tapering from top to bottom. This makes it a great carrot for slicing as it provides even pieces throughout the entire carrot. Scarlet Nantes produces consistently-sized, 6" carrots at full maturity, but it is also a favorite variety for small or baby carrot production. These carrots have a crisp texture and sweet flavor that make them great for raw or cooked preparations. This variety is well-adapted and performs nicely in a wide variety of soil types, including harder, clay soils. It has strong tops that make for easy harvesting by hand.
