Henredon Inlaid Burlwood Louis XVI Style Commode / Chest of Drawers With Marble Top

An exceptional 3-drawer chest of drawers / commode by Henredon that blends elements of late Louis XVI and Biedermeier styling. Features richly finished mahogany and burlwood veneers with beautiful grain patterns. The drawers and frame are detailed with fine geometric inlays, like the chevron/herringbone patterns seen on the borders.The top is a substantial, removable black marble top with contrasting veining in white and gold/ochre. Drawers feature gilt bronze ormolu mounts, pulls and escutcheons, featuring intricate floral and classical motifs that are characteristic of the Louis XVI style. Similar elaborate bronze mounts accentuate the flared bracket feet.Its size makes it versatile, serving perfectly as a grand nightstand, a functional side cabinet, or a small dresser/commode. 40ʺW × 20.25ʺD × 35ʺH Made in the USA by Henredon, late 20th C. / early 21st C.  Excellent condition with very minor signs of age and use.
