La Chasse A La Licorne Limoges Plates Set
Made after the famous 15th Century tapestry called La Chasse A La Licorne (The Unicorn Tapestries or the Hunt of the Unicorn), this is a set of two highly decorative plates each featuring one of the seven tapestries in the set: "The Hunters Enter The Woods" and "The Unicorn Defends Itself". The original tapestries were made in the Netherlands around 1495, and are now in displayed at The Cloisters in New York City. They are often considered one of the greatest works of art of the Middle Ages in Europe. Plates were made in Limoges, France by Robert Haviland and C. Parlon and were a limited edition.
