X-Large Chinese Porcelain Shard Box With Pink Peony

A beautiful extra large mid-century vintage Chinese porcelain shard box with an ornate silver frame and porcelain floral lid. This is an unusually large size for shard boxes!  During the Chinese Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s, keeping antique porcelain at home was illegal, so many collectors broke and threw away their porcelain. After the revolution, people began collecting the broken pieces and trying to restore them into what we call today shard boxes. 10"L x 7"W x 3.5"H China, circa 1960 Great vintage condition with normal signs of wear, some superficial crazing on the porcelain.
