Popular amongst collectors, Maharashtra, India produce colorless as well as apple-green colored crystals due to the presence of iron. The Deccan Traps, one of the largest volcanic features on Earth, is found in west-central India where Maharashtra is located. The volcanic rock is perfect for Apophyllite to form and grow. As lava cools, air pockets form in the solidifying rock, creating spaces for minerals like Apophyllite and zeolites to fill.   Featuring colorless to pastel mint to apple green, the semi-translucent pseudo-cubic crystals of Apophyllite are intergrown and stacked on each other. Two clusters of peachy Calcite crystals balance the piece on each side of the Apophyllite specimen.
