A Victorian 1891 mourning motif. We’ve been absolutely fascinated by mourning jewelry at the moment - we being us here at HTM and also the world. These star/sun seed pearl brooches (pendant conversions) we’re particularly obsessed with. They rose to popularity in the Victorian era as mourning motifs, worn by loved ones as a way to grieve and memorialize those lost long into the future. The seed pearls were used to represent tears and the star/sun motif was chosen after the discovery of Halley’s Comet in 1758 and people became fascinated with the celestial. * 10k * 30mm Does not come with chain.
