GOLDEN Crackle Paste is a thick, opaque, water-based product designed to bring texture to an artists work. Cracking as it dries, GOLDEN Crackle Paste will bring dimension and life to any artistic voice. Crackle Paste is compatible with GOLDEN Heavy Body, Matte, High Load, and Fluid Acrylic lines for tinting and may be painted over once firm. Due to the extreme possibility of product shrinkage after application, GOLDEN suggests applying to more rigid surfaces like wood or sheetrock as opposed to paper or canvas. A crackling effect will still be noted on more flexible surfaces, but may be less desirable due to potential warping. GOLDENs Crackle Paste is essentially formulated to fail, meaning the more cracks the better. This is referred to as "controlled failure". With a consistency similar to icing, Crackle Paste is easily spread and manipulated with a pallet knife while maintaining peaks and texture.
