Sage Shapes | A Drawing & Painting Retreat September 7th-10th, 2023

In this class, you'll learn Deanna's unique method of drawing and painting faces, hands, and flowers using watercolor, ink, and collage. Working from reference photos, we will use shapes and angles to capture gesture and likeness of the muse. Depth is achieved by creating layers with saturated colors, collage papers, and mark making. You'll be gifted time (while your watercolors are drying!) to think about inspiration. What inspires you and how do you apply it to what you are creating? What makes you hum? What is your creative genius? How do you find and keep that when you return home? We will spend time developing our “Sage Shapes,” through intentional inspiration.
