Helen Beach  is a lovely evergreen shrub that produces variegated flowers in late winter to mid spring. The flowers are medium-sized, about 3 inches across, and have a rose-red color with white splotches and moiré patterns. The petals are pointed and layered in a peony or double form, giving the flowers a textured and fluffy look. The flowers also have yellow anthers and white filaments, and a light fragrance that attracts bees and butterflies. Helen beach is a sport of the camellia japonica ‘Mary Edna Curlee’. The shrub grows up to 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide, and has dark green leaves that are 4.75 x 3 inches. It prefers partial shade to full sun, and moist, acidic, well-drained soil with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5. It is hardy in USDA zones 7 to 9, and requires regular watering and fertilization   Variegated Camellias No Refund Policy Due to the nature of the plant, we cannot guarantee that the variegated camellias you purchase will have variegated blooms.
