This is where everything happened, at the shore, down a mile from out little house, peach sand and white pebbles, mandevilla vines in May. We named our boat, drank champagne out of real flutes. Surfing just before sunrise, watching boats coming into the bay with textiles and baguettes from France. Bonfire light bouncing like a disco along a beach, a midnight ceremony, watercolor flowers in all of our arms, names and vows spoken into the wind ringing in our ears.
