Kaftan Shirt Dress (Mixed Black)

The Kaftan Shirt Dress by Lokol is our interpretation of a classic kaftan with a twist. Voluminous by design, it has a mandarin collar and wide sleeves. Deep front pockets and a hidden button stand complete the look. It has been handcrafted in Kenya using batik fabric. Batik is a hand dyed fabric made using a wax resist technique in which wax is stamped on 100% African cotton to create unique designs and then dyed by artisans. These stamps were created especially for Lokol. The Stripes pattern reflect the handmade nature of these fabrics as they are not always straight but nevertheless, create a wonderful and unique pattern. The Dots pattern reflects the randomness of life with their placement dependent entirely on the hand of the artisan.
