Iron Tray

An iron tray for holding anything from candles to key rings. Its curved edge creates the illusion that it is floating just above the surface it’s placed upon. The edge also makes it easy to grasp and pick up.  Designed by internationally renowned industrial designer Josh Owen, whose design work can be found in museums and galleries throughout the world. Owen is the Vignelli Distinguished Professor of Design and the Director of the Vignelli Center for Design Studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He believes that design and function should be married, and that functionality is visible as well as tactile.
