Sueños y Diseños bag, small w/ cream tie

One-of-a-kind, handcrafted, and fully-functional denim handbag measuring 9 inches wide with an addition of a cream, patterned fabric bow. Sueños y Diseños (Dreams and Designs) is one of GML’s signature projects—a women-led upcycling initiative that combines sustainability, creativity, and community care. The project transforms 100% donated materials from our local thrift store, Belmont Boutique, into unique, hand-crafted products. Through sewing, design, and collaboration, women express their creativity while developing entrepreneurial and environmental awareness. Profit distribution: 70% to the artisan and 30% to a community-run emergency fund that assists women and families facing urgent needs. Grupo de Mujeres Latinas (GML) is a formation program of the Belmont Catholic Community in the Bronx. Rooted in faith and solidarity, GML provides immigrant Latina women a safe, nurturing space to develop their skills, strengthen their leadership, and build community.
