In our version of the tale, we offer them pomegranates instead—symbols of fertility, rebirth, and abundance. The birds, messengers from heaven and symbols of the soul, seem to whisper the timeless phrase: “The bird brought us a message.” There's another gentle legend wrapped in the name of this church. Long ago, women who dreamed of having children would bring small handmade cradles—akvani—and place them by the sacred walls of the church, praying in silence and hope. This heartfelt act gave the church its name: Akvaneba, the place where quiet wishes were lifted to the sky.
