The "WLS" stands for Sears & Roebuck's "Worlds Largest Store" located in Chicago, Illinois. “The Silvertone Speaker assures full enjoyment of the wonders of radio reception.” Selling for $11.75 in 1925 would equate to $162.10 with a cumulative inflation rate of 1280%! The “Silvertone” brand name used by Sears, Roebuck and Co for a line of sound equipment from 1915 to 1972. The WLS Silvertone iHORN is a relic and stalwart. It is a beautiful piece, with a warm sound and a solid history.
