12x16 Mixed media on canvas board. Frame included. James Baldwin is one of the giants of American letters. He was at once fearless, vulnerable, bold, outspoken, shy, and given to self-deprecations. Though I am a great admirer of his writing, The Fire Next Time is my all-time favorite. His words give me life and I wanted to put his words in conversation with equally powerful images.
