Hubig's Pie Company began by selling its hand-held pies adorned with mascot, Savory Simon, at corner stores, and then later at K&B's and Schwegmann's throughout the city, becoming a beloved treat for people of all ages and backgrounds. But it wasn't just the delicious taste of these pies that made them special; they were a part of the fabric of New Orleans society. Hubig's Pies were a popular choice for Mardi Gras parade throws, Popeye's Chicken night and crawfish boil desert tables. They held a default spot in the hearts of the city's residents, offering a taste of nostalgia and a link to the past.
