A celebration in images and words from Il Buco founder, Donna Lennard. "It’s hard to fathom that thirty years have passed since il Buco opened on Bond Street in 1994. What began as a little antique store has grown into a beloved family of restaurants and shops, including il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, il Buco Vita, and locations in New York City, Amagansett, and a pop-up in Los Angeles. We’ve also expanded to Ibiza with Bottega il Buco, and most recently to East Hampton, where the il Buco Commissary is now baking bread, jarring products, and expanding our events business. This incredible journey is deeply intertwined with my own family’s story. I remember nineteen years ago when my son Joaquin was just born, and Ignacio Mattos joined us from Uruguay. As I navigated motherhood and the restaurant, the il Buco team became Joaquin’s extended family. Now, that once-toddler, now a 6’2” vocalist, has started college at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. As an empty nester, I’m enjoy
