Basil Olive Oil

Introduced first in Italy, this specialty is made by gathering fresh basil and olives and pressing them together. Basil was usually harvested during summer and blended with olives during winter, allowing families to keep tasting warm summer notes through the cold months. Once extracted, the infused oil produces a fresh aroma and a stronger olive taste. Our Basil Olive Oil maintains the same quality of the Old Country. It carries buttery notes, a hint of mint, and a peppery taste.  We recommend you try it in preparing your next family dinner, whatever that is. Its flavor is particularly delicious when used in dipping bread, sauteing chicken, or preparing a homemade pesto. You can also pair it with our Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar to complement the basil’s base notes with a punch of acid and fruit.
